Who We Are

About Us

The Friends of Somerset Regional Animal Shelter (FOSRAS), is an all-volunteer,  501(c)(3) organization.  Our Mission is to ensure all pets at Somerset Regional Animal Shelter are safe, and receive the care and love they need as they await adoption.

Somerset Regional Animal Shelter is a not-for-profit municipal organization that provides animal control services to Bridgewater and Manville, NJ and cares for more than 1,000 lost, abandoned and surrendered animals per year.  Thanks to community support, we have quadrupled adoptions and have successfully built a network of partner shelters to save animals in overcrowded shelters, from areas of natural disasters, and from extreme animal hoarding cases.  We are saving lives every day!

We are proud to say that all animals adopted from SRAS will go home microchipped, spayed/neutered, and having been provided essential medical care.

FOSRAS volunteers partner with the SRAS staff for daily animal care and cleaning.  We organize on-site and off-site adoption events, fundraisers, learning opportunities and so much more!
