By calling their toll-free number, 1-800-248-SPAY, you will receive information about the nearest low-cost program and will be sent a certificate as proof you have gone through the SPAY/USA network. We have over 900 programs and clinics nationwide with about 7,500 top-notch veterinarians in the network as of mid-1998. |

Animal Welfare League Mobil
Spay/Neuter Clinic The Animal Welfare Association operates New Jersey's first mobile spay/neuter clinic van. Twice a week the van and it's crew of veterinarian and technician travel to the City of Camden to spay and neuter animals for the residents. In addition, the van is often invited to area humane organizations to perform spay/neuter surgeries on shelter animals at a discounted cost. Inside, the van is a fully functional surgical suite. subsidized fees up to $50 for medical services for hardship cases and will
also pay for spay/neuter. |

Liberty Animal Shelter,
235 Jersey City Blvd., Jersey City, will perform a spay/neuter
procedure for $25 and administer a rabies vaccination, deworming and
topical flea/tick prevention for feral cats. |

Cats adopted from a participating adoption facility or referral agency are eligible for a $20 spay/neuter procedure through a state Department of Health and Senior Services Animal Control Program grant. To qualify, the new owner must be a New Jersey resident and have adopted the cat from an eligible facility or agency. Local facilities participating in the program include: Cats can be spayed or neutered and immunized at the above participating veterinary hospitals for $10 for those who qualify for: food stamps, Supplemental Social Security income, Aid to Families with Dependent Children, General Public Assistance, Medicaid, Pharmaceutical Assistance to the Aged and Disabled, Lifeline Utility Credit or Tenants Lifeline Assistance. |
