Random Acts of Kindness

The Acts of Kindness movement began in 1982 with a simple phrase by
Berkeley author Ann Herbert, who asked Americans to
"perform random acts of kindness and senseless acts of beauty.

We at SRAS and FOSRAS dedicate this page to those who have selflessly helped the pets in our care
through random acts of kindness of their own.

Studies show that people are more inclined to enter a shelter and adopt
if the outside of the facility looks well taken care of and has a cheery feeling.
It sets the mood for them as they enter.

FOSRAS and SRAS would like to thank Liz Lynch and Meg Harmsen from BEA Systems in Liberty Corner
for their hard work in spiffing up our little shelter.  It's truly beautiful.
Thank you for your labor of love for our homeless pets!

Kate & new friend, Sweet Pea

Kate
is a very selfless and loving 8 year old young lady who asked her guests to bring gifts for the pets at
Somerset Regional Animal Shelter
instead of for herself in celebration
of her recent birthday.

All of us here at
SRAS and FOSRAS
want to thank you, Kate, for your
 Random Act of Kindness
to all of our homeless pets.

Your parents must be very proud to have raised such a beautiful girl with such an equally beautiful heart.
